Governor Caleb Manasseh mutfwang (Esq.) of Plateau State has promised tackling insecurity in the state.
The Governor, who has just been sworn in some hours ago, made this statement in his speech shortly after his Inauguration Oath and signing of oath, which held at the Rwang Pam Township Stadium, Jos.
Mutfwang noted with great concern that the level of insecurity in the state which according to him has portrayed plateau in a bad light to the other worlds.
He promised taking proactive measures to end the the menace through reviving the state operation rainbow.
Other critical sectors the governor intends giving attention to are; State educational, health sectors, and workers welfare.
Caleb Mutfwang’s administration will diversify the economy by giving proper attention to Agricultural sector and commerce.
To burst the state revenue base through commercial activities, Mutfwang also promised empowering the youth in different critical sectors, such as technology and creative industry.
The governor vow completing the abandoned Zaria road stadium which was long initiated over two decades ago.
The governor was sworn-in alongside his Deputy Hon. Josephine Piyo who was earlier administered an of office by the state chief Judge, Justice David Mann.
There is no doubt that, after his overwhelmed victory at the poll, and confirmation through issuance of certificate of Return by the Electoral body, His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang of the PDP, will become the next governor of Plateau State.
Plateau State government has approved the establishment of a transition committee in fulfilment of it’s necessary obligation to facilitate the process of swearing -in- and handing over of power from Governor Lalong to the Governor-elect, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang.
The government in a statement signed by PETER WUYEP Permanent Secretary (PGS), on behalf of Secretary to the Government of the State dated 31st March, said, “the executive Governor will inaugurate the Committee on Monday 3 April, 2023 by 11.00am at the Victoria Gowon Hall, New Government House, Rayfield, Jos”
The statement further expected Members of the Central Planning Committee to be seated by 10.30am at the event venue.
Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has on Friday presented Certificates of Return to Plateau State Governor-Elect, His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang and his Deputy Governor-Elect, Honourable Ngo Josephine Piyo.
Witnessed by large crowd of theirs supporters across the State, certificate presentations ceremonies were performed by Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Plateau State, Dr. Oliver Agundu together with INEC National Commissioner, Mohammad Haruna Kudu.

The Peoples Democratic Party PDP has 16 members elected under it’s platform as the outgoing APC has 7 under their platform while 1 member-elect was elected under the platform of YPP.
In his comment after the exercise, Governor Mutfwang pointed that, presentation of the certificate of return has brought to a close the electioneering process.
Barr. Caleb Mutfwang thanked Plateau electorates who trusted them with the mandate to provide inclusive leadership in the state.
He described the massive jubilation of Plateau people across the 17 local government areas as “total reflection of the outcome of the polls, which was generally accepted and celebrated across ethnic and religious lines”.
“I want to place on record just like the INEC REC said in his opening remark and corroborated by the National Commissioner that INEC on the Plateau had acquitted itself honourably. While it is true that along the line some of the adhoc staff who tried to provide room for the process to be sabotaged in one way or the other, but the leadership of INEC on the Plateau stood it ground, following the due process of law and that is why today it has concluded the process that has led to rejoicing across the land.
He called on his friends and brothers whom he contested the governorship election with to join hands with him in the service to Plateau people, rather than channeling their energy to litigations.
“On the Plateau, I want to say with every confidence without fear or contraction that the voice of the people has been declared. I thank Plateau people for giving us this unique opportunity to make history, we are coming in at a time that the hope and aspiration of our people is very high on us.
“We take this victory with all seriousness and by the grace of God we will not take the mandate the people have given us for granted. We will do our best to justify the confidence that has been reposed in us, when justice is done, the people rejoice” he stated.
Assuring that, he will work together with Members-Elect to bequeath greatness and prosperity to Plateau people, the governor elect also appealed to Plateau Citizens let behind electioneering issues as his focus is on hitting the ground running from May 29, 2923.
According the the Governor elect, his actions is so that the aspiration of his people will not be dashed.
“Elections are over, it is time for governance, I don’t want us to waste energy and time unnecessarily” Mutfwang stresses.
The ruling All Progressive Party APC has been described as a party with no moral values to campaign for any political position in the Nigeria’s forthcoming general Elections 2023.

Yiljap described Plateau STATE as the spiritual headquarters of the middlebelt, also charged Plateau citizens and the middlebeltants to unite themselves irrespective of their differences towards attaining their common goal.
He Expressed delight that, Governor Samuel Otom of Benue State has apologized to his Leader, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar saying, “Governor Otom has apologized, unlike those on the other side, because it is not in the spirit of Middlebelt to insult elders and that is a sign of light”.

Concerning what Middlebelt stands for, the speaker pointed that, “it is the bond of people cut across the States of Northern Nigeria, people who felt marginalized in the Areas of socio- economic and political sharing of resources in Nigeria”
The PDP Campaign Council Media Head explained, “The people were afraid of loosing their identity, you know the most confused person, is someone who have lost his identity.
These people had faced descrimination based on their faith, culture, restricted freedom of worship, degrading treatment of their traditional rulers”.
Yiljap recounted the 1958 era, when the minorities commission coaliated the grieve of the minorities, but then, “it was an action without motion like Bishop Mathew Kukah once said” according to Yiljap.

Other dignitries who witnessed the ceremony were Hon. Barr. Olivia Daziem who is the Mother of the Day, Hon. Zakaria Diwong , Solomon Ballanson Shitnaan State and Secretary of Atiku Support Organization, Plateau State, PDP candidates for various positions amongst others.
Earlier during their remarks, Hon. Abel Jilemsam State coordinator and Yustus Ngabe National coordinator of the Middlebelt Frontiers declared officially their support for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and the PDP in the forthcoming general elections of 2023.
The event climaxed with the inauguration of Middlebelt Frontiers new EXCO members which was performed by Hon. Selchang Maina.
The inuaguarated EXCO members were from the State, LGAs, down to the last units who are all directed to mobilize support for the PDP.
